The contents of the course are designed based on the syllabus of GE course of MSc BT of University of Kerala.

The objectives and outcomes of the course are

1) Understand, analyse and thereby apply the various tools and techniques involved in genetic engineering

2) Gain insight into the various applications of genetic engineering in agriculture, industrial, medical fields for a better tomorrow.

3) Design an experiment to clone/express their gene of choice.


The basics and applied aspects of EBT will be discussed in detail in this course.

Molecular Biology course for MSc Biotechnology.

Aim

 To give an idea of plant tissue culture

 To introduce the various plant genetic engineering and transformations and its

applications in various fields.

Course Objectives

 It gives introduction to the various transformation techniques employed in plant

systems.

 It also describes the application of genetically modified plants in the various fields of science.

Course Outcome

At the end of the course,

 The students will gain an insight into the concepts and techniques of plant biotechnology and its application to crop plants

 They can also go for further research works during M.Phil and PhD courses.

The course is designed for MSc Biotechnology students to explore the various concepts and applications of Biostatistics.

The course also discusses on the basic concepts of matter, energy, interaction among them and the generation of energy in various organisms. 

It also covers certain basic techniques involved in Biophysics and Instrumentation.

The various aspects of genetics will be discussed in this course.
